LEARNING PROCESS

How does AFF training work?

spadochroniarz w żółtym stroju podczas skoku

STEP 1

Theoretical part

We start with a theoretical part in which you will learn what it is all about (learning the falling position, the basics of moving in the air, controlling the parachute, landing as well as emergency procedures).

STEP 2

Practical science on earth

The next stage is the practical part on the ground, which includes learning the correct posture during freefall, training in a harness, opening the parachute and exiting the plane.

STEP 3

Practical part in the air

The last, most anticipated and exciting element is the practical part in the air, i.e. standing in the doorway of the plane flying at an altitude of 4,000 meters, communicating with instructors, jumping from the plane, a 55-second free fall, opening the parachute, flying with an open parachute and landing safely.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Below you’ll find answers to frequently asked questions about jumping into AFF training. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, please contact us!

AFF – short for Accelerated Freefall, or accelerated freefall training with delayed parachute opening. If you want to experience a 55-second freefall from a height of 4,000 meters, followed by a few minutes of flight with an open parachute, AFF parachute training is for you. AFF training will prepare you professionally, safely, understandably, effectively, and quickly for independent parachute jumps.

AFF training, according to the Civil Aviation Authority program, lasts 8 hours. Training generally begins on a Thursday or Friday afternoon until evening. The following day, we continue training, and on the second or third day, we perform jumps. During the season, we perform jumps from Thursday to Sunday. If you have the time, you can complete the full AFF training, culminating in an exam, over two weekends.

After passing the AFF exam, you can now perform skydiving on your own, but under the supervision of an instructor. Join us for some great fun on any sunny day.

To be an independent skydiver, you must have a Qualification Certificate. To take the ŚK exam, you must have completed a minimum of 50 jumps and have 30 minutes of freefall time (i.e., freefall time without an open parachute).

The basic restrictions are weight below 100 kg, height below 200 cm and average physical fitness

The legislator – Civil Aviation Authority does not provide for the necessity of conducting aviation medical examinations

Purchasing a parachute is a serious decision due to its cost. We recommend not considering such a purchase until you have completed 100-150 jumps. Until then, you can rent our state-of-the-art, world-class parachute sets, of which we currently have over 20.

AFF training requires ground wind speeds of no more than 6 m/s and a cloud ceiling that allows for visibility of the airport immediately after the main parachute opens. During AFF training, the opening altitude is approximately 1,500 meters. In practice, your instructors know when conditions allow for safe training jumps, and you must rely on their judgment.

After completing the course, you’ll receive an entry in your Jump Book, entitling you to perform solo skydiving jumps under the supervision of an instructor. This means you can now jump independently within our facility. Each subsequent jump is supervised by an instructor.

Under favorable conditions, you can complete the training in two weekends, and we recommend completing the training in no more than two months. Some students take longer breaks between jumps, but we don’t recommend them. They negatively impact the effectiveness of the training and increase the stress associated with jumping. We suggest booking several weekends in a row in advance to complete the training efficiently.

In our opinion, until you reach your 50th jump, you should perform parachute jumps at our Center under the supervision of our instructors who will prepare you for the Qualification Certificate exam.

Our instructors film all your jumps. We provide you with the materials after each jump and after completing the course.

Becoming an instructor requires a significant commitment of time, but we’d be happy to assist you. You should start with AFF training and aim to complete as many jumps as possible over the next two to three years. Additionally, you should consider participating in skydiving events, where you’ll gain significant experience. If you complete around 500 jumps and gain significant skills, you can apply for instructor training with us. After training, you’ll need to pass a state exam with the Civil Aviation Authority and a practical examiner, and complete practical training in both theoretical and practical training. The journey from your first jump to instructor certification takes about four to five years.
